poems
all about my dreams, thoughts and my sweet life.

Srimati

Dark will appear in cloudy day

The rain will come in torrent

Water of Jamuna will raise high

In the cyclonic breeze fluent.

No light will be seen at dark night

Lightening electricity of sky makes bright

A little moment to puzzle the eyesight.

Soil will be trembling by the cyclone

And a heavy rain will stay with plan

She will pass slippery and muddy way

When the flute of her lover will say.

She must meet with her dear

Crossing the deep jungle long far.

The snakes may clang her feet

She does not care all of that

She thinks the snakes are her anklet.

Her feet may be wounded by thorn

She will not stop but run.

Day or night when flute calls her

She forgets mortal life and fear.

Her only thought is Sri Krishna her dear.

Attention like Srimati is unparallel and rare

So her love and devotion called so fair.

once again

After a long I returned

To this green land.

The flowers are in bloom

Beside the road .

Birds were flying over the head

I heard their diverse sound.

Through the muddy path

Breathing a full in heart

Reached at my village home.

I met my relatives and friend

And soon I became very glad

Visited around my home part

Around the home many trees

Are standing and giving shed

Yet I felt something is lost

And rather empty in my heart.

I tried to remind of the missing

Remembered the trees were living

The west side of our home

There was a custard apple

And trees of palm

They lost their live in disaster.

I told my grief to our planter

He promised to implant seeds

To grow once again in need.

I became glad and desired

Again to see green trees on the mud.

sundarban

It was a beauteous day, free air

Passing through the Matla River

Looks the river bank so fresh and green

The cute sundarban is a natural heaven.

Matchless beauty of the forest

The great pleasure of eyesight.

The kingdom of royal Bengal tiger

Crocodile, jungle foul, wild boar.

joyful home of monkey and cute deer

Variety of birds flying near and far.

Herons are in the bank of river

Deer are coming to drink water

Can be seen from the steamer.

Bees collecting honey from flowers

 And making their attractive beehives.

River divides into many channels

To meet at last into Bay of Bengal.

It is thrilling and full of fear-

When boat passes these channels.

Sides of the forest then come near

The boat comes at a range of tiger.

We can see the forest from a little far

That is heavens beauty at our door.

This is the largest mangrove forest

sundari trees are spreading the area best.

In the previous days sundarban was larger

Climate was so fresh and far better.

Tour inside sundarban is an adventure.

A daring activity of honey collector-

Is interesting but causing a great fear

Danger may come any time from a tiger.

These are sad days for honey collector wives

When their husbands go to forest in danger

They behave like a widow till they arrive.

Banabibi is the deity of the forest

People worship her with great respect.

Honey collector enter in the forest

Worshiping the deity and praying with heart.

People believe Banabibi is the saver

Of the people who fall in danger.

An interesting and heart touching story

With a boy Dukhi preaches Banabibi’s glory.

Dukhi was left alone in the forest of danger-

Banabibi saved this poor boy from a tiger

By her divine power.

She sent the boy to his distressed mother.

Many Bengali folks are heard there

Beautifully mixed with sundarban- nature.

Once I saw its nature and beauty of all

Yet I feel a touch of its trees and flowers smell.

kanak and prince

There was a kings palace in a solitary island

For the prisoner of the royal line.

Long ago a prince  was banished there

By the order of his king-father

Prince forbade the king going in immortal war.

The prince was staying alone in the palace hall

His company was some painting in the wall

Of them a beautiful picture of a young girl.

He saw the picture and felt all alive-

Prince believed souls never die.

He felt he is not alone in this land-

Till here the trees, birds, and the free wind.

He went to the forest hearing birds sound.

And used to collect fruits from island forest

And saw the beautiful sun rising in the east.

In the night he noticed thousand of glowworm -

Entered in the palace to lighten the room.

He looked at the picture of that girl often

And desired her presence in imagination.

He tried to draw her picture but in vain.

He gave all his efforts with a deep concentration

At last he saw an exact picture has been drawn.

On that night prince suddenly saw a light

In his room and following the light

A girl appeared before him with various foods

The girl walked to the prince and said

-take this food and eat with contented mind.

Who are ye the divine girl and who sent thee?

I am kanak, nobody sent me said she.

The prince began to talk with the cute girl

And ate all the delicious food with glance.

Kanak accompanied prince all the night -

She said before the day came bright

I am going now, every night I shall come

With food, wait for me, be cheerful and calm.

Kanak used to come every night

Fed the prince stayed up to last night and went.

After a year a ship reached in the island

Some ministers reached to the prince.

They gave him sorrowful news -

That the king has died in a great war.

They offered the prince the kingdom

But the prince denied and said-

That his younger brother

Is experienced enough and he will be the king.

So the ministers returned to the country.

The prince passed his life with island’s nature

And a sincere love of his dear girl kanak.

a parrot

A parrot was kept in a cage

In a heritage of a sage.

Once the sage set him free

The parrot flew to a tree.

He learnt some word from the sage

That is sib-sib kali-kali in his lip

He flew to a forest deep.

But alas! The forest was burnt then

By the extreme heat of the sun.

The parrot found some juiceless fruits

And no flowers in the plants.

He flew all over the forest and uttered

Sib-sib kali-kali with his mood.

In the night a black cloud covered the sky

A heavy rain fall in the forest dry.

Next morning after the rain, the parrot found

A new life of the forest with a green ground

He cheered and began to fly

On the forest saying sib-sib kali –kali

He thought the name is very holy.

fall from the heaven

A sad voice of flute comes from the garden

A cyclone rises in the heart of the woman

Her paradise is now broken down

She comes down in soil without the crown.

The story of the said lady is painful

She got married with a young man

The man loved her with heart and soul.

The lady got a daughter after a few years

She was beautiful as her father

They passed a life happily together-

She dreamt of a heavenly life forever.

But alas! One day a cruel truth came to light

Her husband was no more for her-

He was fallen in love with a lady another.

This news broke the heart of the former

She burst out into tears and desired to die

The nature became sad by her heart rending cry

Her grief spread all over the air and sky.

She felt dark everywhere in this earth

She began to think of the world of death.

Love is a meaningless word she felt

It sells very cheap for enjoyment.

Her husband once gave her best honor

He promised to live entire life together.

The lady was seeking some toxin,

She wanted to get relief from this pain.

She thought the death can give her peace

But when her only daughter called her

She was startled and again burst into tears.

The daughter clanged her mother

This child is only the light of the lady

She would save her soul for the sake of baby.

I have seen this truth of a poor womens life

Think a little before leaving a trustful wife.

DREAM previous June 6 2008

The trees were then in flowers

Sweet smell spread around the air

Singing birds were flying here and there

Spring had come with its entire fair.

In the garden on the bed of grass

John lied under a tree

He read a sweet love story

Of glee, and he looked merry

When john slept could not remember

A beautiful sight with wonder

He saw a fair girl of fairyland

With a red rose in her hand.

She was standing and moving in the sky

And looking john with wistful eye.

John gazed and gazed but could not

Say any word, as she was long away

John felt a thrill in heart

The fairy wearied in a long white skirt.

Little the time John passed in sleep

But the fairy impressed him deep

When awoke john thought of dreamy scene

He desired to dream the fairy once again

.

One morning John was sitting in his room

A girl through the garden came to him

With a strange he saw the girl came in dream

John looked and looked could not utter a word

What do you see, I am Roseate she said.

John could know his girl friend of  childhood

She was a sweet girl of ten years old

Now after twelve years Roseate has become

A fairy and a girl of John’s dream.

lost days

We were walking on the plain

The rain came on the lane

Took shelter under a house shed

And talking about our livelihood.

But alas! I missed thee one day

Where you have gone nobody could say

Passed the days and passed the year

I searched you here and there.

Town to town in the hill and sea shore

Passed Twenty years on my way

Sudden a surprise! I see one day

A girl deeply observing me

What is she searching in me?

I looked at her, what a strange!

Felt I saw these eyes long before

My heart moved and I cheer

She is in same look and same wear.

Perhaps she was in a deep sleep elsewhere

And have come in new life shore.

I look and look at her and my mind says

“You are blooming flower of these days

If you can love me so far

I shall beside you forever

I shall see a new sunshine and a new light

Your touch of heart will make me so bright”.

THE GOLDEN ISLET

An imagination that came in my mind

In an ocean situated a golden island

And sparkling the golden sands

Growing lotus and other trees

Always blooming flowers

Cuckoo’s song, bee’s sound

And smell of flowers makes a dreamland

Inside the golden island looks pleasant

With Red, white, yellow, black flower-plants

There is a golden statue of goddess

She is the sign of love and grace

Living there the fair men and fairies

They are all singing and dancing

Beautiful gems ornaments are showing

In their neck and glittering

When the morning sun fall on the golden sands

And beautiful birds comes with the music band

A heavenly scene is found all around

All the fairies and angels worship the goddess

And pray to live forever in this paradise

on the footpath

How they have come,

Where was their home?

I could not know but I see them every day

While going on that way.

Out side a metro rail station, on the footpath

They are living day by day

And trying to escape them by a wrapper

Of clothes or plastic paper.

A little oven made by brick and mud

Is seen in a corner of path to cook the food

They have come here for earning and livelihood

And dreaming for a better days and shelter

No one is beside them to make their future.
